Our Services

At Adapt of Illinois, we offer recovery and psychosocial rehabilitation services for adults living with severe mental illness, such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, and mood disorders. Whether in their own apartment, a group home or long-term care facility, we serve our clients in an environment that is comfortable and familiar to them. To better serve our clients, we maintain a small provider-to-client ratio so we can focus on providing intensive and individualized services to clients with the greatest needs. Our services are tailored specifically to our clients, building upon their strengths to develop skills, boost confidence, and increase independence.

Introducing JumpStart

Now Available to Individuals in the Metro East Area (Madison, St. Clair and Surrounding Counties) 

Adapt’s JumpStart program is designed to assist adults living with severe mental illness who are currently residing in a nursing home to transition into community living.
Included in the JumpStart program is a dual admission into the Community Support program where participants have access to case management services, financial assistance with initial start-up costs associated with moving, and community support services. The goal of this program is to support these individuals to confidently live independently within their community.

The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of persons served.

Adapt is a long-standing member of the Community Behavioral Healthcare Association of Illinois (CBHA). CBHA is a statewide association of behavioral healthcare community providers of mental health, substance abuse and youth services to Illinois citizens. CBHA promotes the development of quality programs providing services for community behavioral health including mental health, alcohol and substance abuse, rural mental health and children and adolescents.

CARF Survey Results are in!

We are pleased to share the wonderful news that Adapt of Illinois (“AOI”) has officially received a 3-year CARF accreditation! This is a significant achievement.

The CARF accreditation process is rigorous, and it’s a testament to the high standards of care and service that we continuously strive to uphold. The commitment to excellence, professionalism, and teamwork throughout the process was truly outstanding. This accreditation is a direct reflection of the passion and effort our team puts into your roles every day.

We would like to share some of the strengths the surveyors observed to highlight how our collective efforts have contributed to this success.

The senior leaders of AOI bring remarkable maturity, confidence, and energy to running incredibly complex and demanding programs. The leadership team deservedly took great pride in showcasing the highly successful programs offered by the organization to improve the quality of clients’ lives. Senior program managers demonstrate remarkable knowledge, enthusiasm, and compassion.
Team members at all levels, from direct service to executive, demonstrate a commitment to and passion for their work on behalf of the organization. They are palpably enthusiastic about their work. When asked what they like about their jobs, team members consistently stated that they love working with the clients.
Clients express a high degree of satisfaction with the services provided by AOI. Their comments included, “Staff is awesome,” “Grateful they go above and beyond what is expected”, “{The organization] grounds me,” and “I’ve learned I have the right to be happy”.
Several family members shared that AOI has helped their loved ones who were experiencing homelessness or incarceration. One family member noted his appreciation for the Community Support program, commenting that the program has enabled his sibling to enjoy an improved quality of life. Another family member noted her appreciation for the support and guidance she receives from AOI staff.
AOI’s staff members work seamlessly to transition clients from one program to another. Program Directors see the potential in each client and ensure the transitions facilitated are as successful as possible.
Many clients in the nursing home-based programs have significant health challenges in addition to serious mental health conditions. Staff members work diligently with client to address challenges related to their mental health and whole health. Examples of their work include interactions with multiple groups per day, the availability of staff, small caseload size, therapeutic outings into the community, and being present while nursing home personnel administer medications to provide motivational interviewing, education, and connection to the treatment plan.
